Comprehensive Prenatal Care
Over the course of your appointments, I work to build a relationship with you based on mutual respect, love, and trust. I will spend time at each visit to educate you on the changes your body and baby are going through during pregnancy. I will evaluate your health to ensure your baby is growing and thriving. We will also discuss your desires leading up to birth. Care is provided both in office and in home.
1 hour visits following the standard obstetric schedule (every month until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then every week until birth)
Comprehensive medical/prenatal history
Risk assessment throughout pregnancy
Nutritional counseling and suggestions for managing common pregnancy symptoms
Collection of labs for routine prenatal tests as well as genetic testing (if desired)
Urinalysis at each prenatal visit
Assessment of mother’s well-being
Assessment of fetal heart tones and position of baby
Personalized education, counsel, and discussion of your options
Referrals for any ultrasounds or necessary physician consultations
24/7 phone access to me for concerns or emergencies and unlimited email access for non-urgent questions
Postpartum and Newborn Care
Having been a postpartum nurse for over 20 years, this is one of my favorite times to be there and support moms as they transition to caring for their new little one.

Follow-up Visits: 24-28 hours after birth, 10-14 days postpartum, and 6 weeks postpartum

Labor and Delivery
Home birth is my passion. I will work to personalize your birth based on the desires you share with me during your prenatal care. As you labor, I will offer support, guidance, and comfort to help you birth your little one into the special birth environment you have created for them.
Assessment of you and your baby throughout labor and birth; keeping you well-nourished and hydrated to maintain the energy needed for labor/birth
Labor support by a trained birth assistant current in CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation certifications
Perineal evaluation following the birth and, if necessary, the use of numbing agents for suturing
Immediate and continuous skin-to-skin contact to promote bonding and encourage the initiation of breastfeeding
Delayed cord clamping to assist your baby with transition as he/she begins to breathe on their own
Breastfeeding support
Immediate access to resuscitation equipment, including oxygen
IV fluids and IV antibiotics, if indicated
Anti-hemorrhage medications, if needed
Comprehensive newborn assessment
Erythromycin and preservative-free Vitamin K available for your baby, if indicated or requested
Clean up after birth
